HW for Monday, September 5

  1. Post a message on the blog.
  2. Do exercises in book: reading 1 - A, B, and C in book, D on separate paper. Reading 2 - A and B on p. 12, A and B on p. 13-14, D on p. 15
  3. Make vocabulary cards or write on vocabulary log the AWL words for Unit 1.
  4. Read Ch. 1-3 of Kite Runner (KR), answer questions on handout for these chapters. Read a few pages every day.
  5. Come prepared to discuss textbook and Ch. 1-3 of KR.
Please remember that this class only meets once a week and requires you to do up to 6 hours of homework/week. This week, you're doing work for two weeks. Manage your time well and "hang in there"!!

    Good Morning Maria,

    I'm Tri Ho, I finally can post a comment to you. As you told us in the class; reading is very important part for college student! I really agree with that. But I still have a problem while I'm reading. It's about the speed and also I got stuck when I fill in the blank of the sentences with vocabulary activity part. Could you give me some advice so I can improve my reading skill better? Thank you Maria. I'll see you in class next week.

    Hi Maria,
    I am doing chapter 8-10 study guide questions for Kite Runner,until now I am realize it really a beautiful novel and a heartbreaking story of an unlikely friendship between the two boys ( Amir and Hassan ), also the fragile relationship between Baba and Amir.
